Reality & Reason is an independent editorial body based in London, publishing governance instruments for boards dealing with AI. It is a trading name of MKAI International Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 08832034).

Editorial direction is held by Richard Foster-Fletcher, Chair of MKAI. Reality & Reason does not sell implementation services, software, training, or consultancy. Revenue comes solely from instrument licensing.

MKAI and Reality & Reason

MKAI (mkai.org) is the research institute. It publishes the analytical research, definitions, and field studies that examine what AI does to organisations. The Structural Dynamics Register, the Prose Drift research programme, and the What Still Matters newsletter are published by MKAI.

Reality & Reason publishes the governance instruments that the research supports and handles licensing. The instruments add defined terms, board motions, conformance testing, and operational controls that the research does not contain.

The research is open. The instruments are licensed. Editorial control for both sits with Richard Foster-Fletcher.

Reality & Reason accepts no sponsorship, advertising, or commercial partnership that would influence editorial decisions. The purchase of a licence does not confer influence over the content of the instruments.
